|
What do businesses and organizations like Novartis, IBM, The Minnesota Timberwolves,
The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Valvoline all have in common? Each teaches
the Myers-Briggs program to their new managers. |
The highly acclaimed Myers Briggs program is a full or half-day class that measures
and illustrates the strengths and weaknesses of different personality types. Personality
types are measured in Myers Briggs by a self-administered survey that provides a
useful way of describing participants' personalities by looking at their preferences
on four scales. Preferences which combined to yield one of sixteen different personality
types (Extraversion vs. Introversion, Thinking vs. Feeling, Judging vs. Perceiving,
etc.).
Objectives
To understand valuable strengths in all personality types. It will not only help
participants to identify their own strengths, gifts and potential growth areas,
but also help them to understand and appreciate how and why others differ from them.
With this understanding, participants are better equipped to lead and interact with
the many different personality types that make-up their organization.
Outcomes
- Participants communicate more effectively with supervisors, peers and fellow employees
- Improved teamwork and conflict resolution
